Newsletter for March 26-30, 2018
In our story, “Ruby in Her Own Time,”
we are discussing what we learn as we grow and change. We have also discussed comparing and
contrasting. Our test for this story
will be Thursday, March 29th.
Our focus phonics skills for this
story are words with –ng and –nk and compound words. Our spelling words are: bring, trunk, pink,
bank, sang, wing, rink, blank, rang, and sunk.
Our challenge words include: “every” and “sure.” Our spelling test will also be on Thursday,
March 29th.
In Topic 12, we are discussing length! We are discussing how objects can be
measured, compared and ordered by length.
Key vocabulary for this topic includes: longest, shortest, taller,
shorter, estimate, and measure.
March AR Reading logs will be
collected on Thursday, March 29th. A new April AR paper will be sent home as
well! Students have really enjoyed
reading books from our classroom library and putting them on their AR paper!
