Weekly Newsletter for April 2-6,
2018
We will begin our new story this
week titled, “The Class Pet.” Throughout
our story we will be discussing how we can learn about animals as they grow and
change. We will also begin discussing
the difference between fact and opinion and identifying a fact vs.
opinion.
Our focus phonics skills for this
story are words with –es and r-controlled (or, ore). Our spelling words are: fix, fixes, class,
classes, wish, wishes, kiss, kisses, bus, buses. Our challenge words include: “friends” and “very.”
In Math, we are continuing to
discuss length by answering how objects can be measured, compared and ordered
by length. Vocabulary for this topic
includes: longest, shortest, taller, shorter, estimate and measure. Our test for Topic 12 will be on Thursday,
April 5th.
