Weekly Newsletter for April 16- 20, 2018

In our new story, “Frog and Toad Together,” we will be discussing changes we see in a garden.  Throughout this story, we will also dive into authors purpose.  Our test for this story will be on Friday, April 20^th. 

Our focus phonics skills for this story are words with an ending (-ed) and r-controlled ar.  Our spelling words are: plan, planned, help, helped, drop, dropped, call, called, ask, asked.  Our challenge words include: “again” and “very.”  Our spelling test on these words will also be on Friday, April 20^th. 

We have learned how to read both an analog and digital clock to the hour and half hour.  Our key vocabulary includes: hour hand, hour, minute hand, minute, o’clock, half hour and schedule.  We will take our Topic 13 test on time and schedules tomorrow, April 17^th. 

A friendly reminder that on Thursday, April 19^th is our class field trip to Hershey Chocolate World!  Students are to wear the blue “North Schuylkill Spartans” shirt from Boosterthon and school dress-code pants/ shorts.  No jeans or sweatpants are permitted.  Also, please be sure that all lunch items are disposable.  All items will be thrown away!

Wednesday (4/18)- Day 10- Gym

Thursday (4/19)- Day 1- Field Trip to Chocolate World!  Please wear your blue “North Schuylkill Spartans” shirt, dress-code pants/ shorts and comfortable shoes!   

Friday (4/20)- Day 2- Computers –Spartan Dress Down for a $1 donation
