Weekly Newsletter for March
19-23, 2018
In our new story, “Ruby in Her Own
Time,” we will be discussing what we learn as we grow and change. As a class, we will also be re-visiting the
skill of compare and contrast.
Our focus phonics skills for this
story are words with –ng and –nk and compound words. Our spelling words are: bring, trunk, pink,
bank, sang, wing, rink, blank, rang, and sunk.
Our challenge words include: “every” and “sure.”
In Math, we took our Topic 9 test
today! Next, we will be diving into “length”
in Topic 12. Throughout this topic, we will
be discussing how objects can be measured, compared and ordered by length.
Our PTO basket raffle is quickly
approaching! The dates of this event are
April 14th and April 15th. This year, our theme is a gift card
assortment! If you are interested in
participating in our class basket, all gift cards and money must be turned in
by Wednesday, March 28th.
Thank you to all that have participated so far! J
Last week, I sent home a Scholastic
Flyer for the Spring edition! If you are
interested in ordering from Scholastic, all orders are due by Thursday,
March 22nd. You may order online using our class code: MJJ8J or by sending in cash or check
(Scholastic Inc.) along with your order slip!
Thank you for your continued support! J
With cold and flu season, our supply
of tissues and hand sanitizer has dwindled as we tried to keep
those germs away. If you are willing to donate these items to
our classroom, we would really appreciate it!
Thank you!
