Weekly Newsletter for March 12-
16, 2018
We are continuing to discuss how
places change in our story, “A Place to Play.”
We are also identifying sequencing words and talking about the sequence
of a story. Our test for “A Place to
Play” will be Friday, March 16th.
Our
focus phonics skills for this story are vowel sounds of y and syllable pattern
cv. Our spelling words are: my, by, try,
sunny, handy, fly, cry, lucky, silly and puppy. Our challenge words for this
story include: “things” and “always.” Our
test for these focus skills will be on Friday, March 16th.
In
Math, we are really focusing on comparing and ordering numbers to 100. We have really focused on identifying one
more, one less, ten more, and ten less!
We are going to begin comparing numbers to identify which is greater
than, less than or equal to. Our test
for Topic 9 will be early next week!
On
Friday, I sent home a paper outlining our PTO’s basket raffle. The event will be held on April 14th
and April 15th. Each
classroom has selected a theme to donate towards the basket raffle. This year, our theme will be a gift card
assortment.
There are two ways
you can participate in our class basket:
1. 1. You may
purchase a gift card on your own and send it to school with your child in their
OWL folder.
2. You may send in a monetary donation in an envelope
in your child’s OWL folder and I will purchase the gift card for you!
*Please note, any
size gift card/ money donation would be greatly appreciated!
*If you are interested
in participating in the PTO basket raffle, all gift cards and money must be
turned in by Wednesday, March 28th.
