Weekly
Newsletter for November 6-10, 2017
In
Reading, we will continue with our story, “A Fox and a Kit.” We are discussing the main idea and
supporting details of the story. We have
also talked about how wild animals take care of their babies! Our test for this story will be Tuesday,
November 7th. Our
spelling test for inflected endings –s and –ing will also be Tuesday,
November 7th!
In Math, we are continuing to work
on our addition and subtraction facts to 12!
We also learned that addition and subtraction sentences can be written, “side
to side OR up and down.” We are still
practicing our vocabulary words such as: sum, difference, plus sign, minus
sign, equals, doubles fact, and near doubles.
Last week, our class read the story,
Turkey Trouble, by Wendi Silvano.
I sent home a note explaining our Turkey in disguise project and
writing! If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to ask! The
kiddos seem very excited about this project!
J All turkeys
and clues are due by Friday, November 10th. However, you can always send them in
throughout the week!
*A
friendly reminder: As of November 3rd (Daylight Savings) shorts are
