Weekly Newsletter for January 6-10, 2020

          Welcome back and Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break!  J 

            We will begin a new story this week titled, “The Farmer in the Hat.”  Throughout this story we will discuss how our school is a community.  We will also revisit the skill of cause and effect.  Our high frequency words are: could, be, old, paper, of, and horse. 

            Our focus phonics skills are the long a sound and consonants c/s/ and g /j/.  Our spelling words are face, made, age, safe, make, take, cage, cake, late, and name.  Our challenge words are “could” and “old.” 

            In Math, we will begin Unit 4!  In this unit, we will focus on Place Value!  To begin, we will work on finding groups of ten to skip count and showing extra ones!  Please continue to work on our Math flash cards!  We are working so hard to beat our team score in Spring Math! J

            Attached you will find our January Scholastic Book order forms!  You may order online using our class code: MJJ8J or you may send in your book order with a check (Scholastic INC.).  All Scholastic Book orders are due Wednesday, January 15^th.

Thursday (1/9)- Day 2- Computers

Friday (1/10)- Day 3- Gym
