Weekly Newsletter for October 29- November 2, 2018

            We will continue to discuss how wild animals take care of their babies in Reading!  We are focusing on identifying the Main Idea and key details within a story.  The key sight words for “A Fox and a Kit” are: her, too, four, five, eat, and this.  Our Reading test will be on Thursday, November 1st

Our focus phonics skills are inflected endings –s and –ing.  The spelling words for this story are: sit, sits, win, wins, fit, fits, hit, hits, nap, and naps.  Our challenge words are “her” and “too.”  Our spelling test will be on Thursday, November 1st. 

In Math, this week we will continue to discuss the communitive property!  We will also work on identifying a missing addend, showing the part we know and what we are missing and writing the number sentence.  We are continuing to practice our basic facts! 

This Wednesday, October 31st we will be having our annual Halloween Parade and treat in our classroom.  An important paper was sent home in our Friday Folders outlining the guidelines and parade route.  Please send your child’s costume in a bag labeled with their name on Wednesday, October 31st!

            Wednesday is also the end of the month of October.  I will be collecting AR reading logs on that day!  Please be sure to list all books that the students read for that month.  Students who complete 15 entries (or more!)  will receive a Pizza Hut coupon.  Thank you for your continued support!

Monday (10/29)  Day 4- Library- Crazy Hair Day!  
Tuesday (10/30) – Day 5- Gym- Proud to be Drug Free Day- Wear RED! 
Wednesday (10/31)- Day 6- Music- Halloween Parade starting at 2:00!  Please send costumes in a bag labeled with your child’s name! J 
Thursday (11/1)- Day 7- Computers  
Friday (11/2)- Day 8- Art
