Welcome back! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing
break! J
In Reading, we will
begin the story, “The Farmer and the Hat.”
Throughout this story, we will be discussing how our school is a
community. We will also continue to work
on cause and effect.
Our phonics skills
for this story are the long a and consonants c/s/ and g /j/. The spelling words for this story are: face,
made, age, safe, make, take, cage, cake, late, and name. Our challenge words for this story are “could”
and “old.”
In Math, we are
beginning to discuss strategies that could be used to find subtraction
facts. Key vocabulary words that we will
be using include: minus, difference, related facts, and fact families.

Monday, January 15th- Teacher In-service day! No school for students!
