In Reading, we will
continue with our story, “The Big Blue Ox.”
We have been talking about how animals can help us! We also are revisiting the skill of
identifying the characters and setting within a story! The high frequency words are: blue, help,
little, from, use and get. Our Reading
test will be on Thursday, October 10th.
Our focus phonics
skills for this story are short O and plural –s. The spelling words are: hot, hop, pot, pop,
ox, lock, mop, got, and rock. Our
challenge words are “help” and “use”.
Our test on these spelling words will be on Thursday, October 10th.
We are beginning Unit
2 this week! We will be discussing the parts of a number sentence with
vocabulary words: addend, sum, and equal sign!
We will also learn about the communitive property of addition!
Our
schedule for the upcoming week:

day! It is also Parent Night from
4pm-7pm.
Tuesday
(10/8)- Day 7- Gym
Wednesday
(10/9)- Day 8- Music *Picture Re-Take Day! Please note the change in date!
Thursday
(10/10)- Day 1- Art
Friday
(10/11)- Day 2- Computers *Act 80- Half Day- Students will
be dismissed at 12 Noon
