Our next story in Reading will be “A
Fox and a Kit.” We will be discussing
how wild animals take care of their babies.
Throughout our story we will work on identifying the main idea and key
details.
Our focus
phonics skills are inflected endings –s and –ing. The spelling words for this story are: sit,
sits, win, wins, fit, fits, hit, hits, nap, and naps. Our challenge words are “her” and “too.”
In Math, we
will continue to work on addition sentences to 10. We will work on finding the missing addend,
and review using a number line. Key
words we will focus on this week are: addend, plus, equal sign, and sum.
Please
continue to encourage your child to practice reading at home! Document your child’s reading on their
Reading Log that can be found in their BEE folder! Students who complete the October Reading Log
will receive a Pizza Hut book-it coupon.
