Weekly Newsletter for May 6-10,
2019
In Reading, we will begin our new
story, “The Class Pet.” Throughout this
story we will discuss what we can learn from animals as they grow and
change. We will also discuss the
difference between a fact and an opinion.
Our high frequency words are: very, car, away, our, house, school, and
friends.
Our focus phonics skills for this
story are words with –es and r-controlled or, ore. Our spelling words for this story are: fix,
fixes, class, classes, wish, wishes, kiss, kisses, bus and buses. Our challenge words are “friends” and
“very.”
This week in Math, we will begin
interpreting data and graphing our findings!

our class code: MJJ8J or you may
send in your book order with a check (Scholastic INC.). All Scholastic Book orders are due Wednesday, May 8th. Thank you for your continued support! J
