Weekly Newsletter for May 14-17,

In
Reading, we will continue to work on the story, “The Class Pet.” Throughout this story we will discuss what we
can learn from animals as they grow and change.
We also learned the difference between a fact and an opinion. Our high frequency words are: very, car,
away, our, house, school, and friends. Our
test on this story will be Tuesday, May 14th.
Our
focus phonics skills for this story are words with –es and r-controlled or,
ore. Our spelling words for this story
are: fix, fixes, class, classes, wish, wishes, kiss, kisses, bus and buses. Our challenge words are “friends” and
“very.” Our test on these spelling words
will be Tuesday, May 14th.
In
Math, we will continue to discuss ways we can collect and show data! Our Unit 7 test on Money and Graphs will be
early next week!
