Weekly Newsletter for April 8-12, 2019

          We will begin our new story this week!  Throughout the story, “A Place to Play” we will revisit the skill of sequencing!  We will also discuss how places change.  Our key high frequency words are things, always, day, become, nothing, stays, and everything. 

          Our focus phonics skills are the vowel sounds of y and syllable pattern CV. The spelling words for this story are: my, by, try, sunny, handy, fly, cry, lucky, silly and puppy.  Our challenge words are “things” and “always.” 

          We will begin our new unit in Math this week!  For Unit 7 we will dive into money and graphing!  This week, we will begin to identify a penny and a nickel! 

Attached you will find our April Scholastic Book order forms!  You may order online using our class code: MJJ8J or you may send in your book order with a check (Scholastic INC.).  All Scholastic Book orders are due Wednesday, April 17^th.

Thursday (4/11)- Day 4- Library

Friday (4/12)- Day 5- Gym *Spartan Dress Down Day for a $1 donation  

Important Dates for the Future:

Friday (4/19)- No School for Students!

Saturday (4/27) and Sunday (4/28)- PTO Raffle Basket at NSE
