Weekly Newsletter for April 15-19, 2019
We will continue to work on our story, “A Place to Play” this week! We will work on identifying the sequence of a story. Our high frequency words are things, always, day, become, nothing, stays, and everything. Our test on this story will be on Wednesday, April 17th.
Our focus phonics skills are the vowel sounds of y and syllable pattern CV. The spelling words for this story are: my, by, try, sunny, handy, fly, cry, lucky, silly and puppy. Our challenge words are “things” and “always.” Our test on these spelling words will be Wednesday, April 17th.
This week, we will continue to work on identifying coins and their value. We will also begin discussing counting money!
Our April Scholastic Book order forms were sent home last week! You may order online using our class code: MJJ8J or you may send in your book order with a check (Scholastic INC.). All Scholastic Book orders are due Wednesday, April 17th.
As a class, we love to read and listen to stories! It is very important that kids hear fluent reading and apply comprehension strategies. One way we can practice these skills is by having guest readers come into our classroom! If any parent/ grandparent/ guardian would like to come into our classroom as a guest reader, please let me know by writing me a note, email or Class Dojo message!
