Weekly
Newsletter for April 22-26, 2019
We
will begin our new story this week titled, “Ruby in Her Own Time.” Throughout this story we will discuss what we
learn as we grow and change. We will
also work with comparing and contrasting topics. Our high frequency words are ever, sure, were
enough, every, any and own.
Our
phonics skills for this story are words with ng, and nk as well as compound
words. Our spelling words are: bring,
trunk, pink, bank, sang, wing, rink, blank, rang, and sunk. Our challenge words are “every” and “sure.”
In
Math, we will continue to identify coins and their value! This week we will focus on the coins, dime
and quarter! Students have really
enjoyed learning our songs about our coins.
Please encourage them to continue to practice them! J
As a class, we love to read and listen to stories! It
is very important that kids hear fluent reading and apply comprehension
strategies. One way we can practice these skills is by having guest
readers come into our classroom! If any parent/ grandparent/ guardian
would like to come into our classroom as a guest reader, please let me know by
writing me a note, email or Class Dojo message!
