Weekly Newsletter for September 17- 21, 2018
In Reading, we will begin our new story, “Pig in a Wig.” Throughout this story, we will discuss who helps animals. We will also be discussing the plot of a story and identifying the key details.
In Math, we are continuing to discuss ways we can organize and represent information about our new class through graphing. Next, we will begin to dive into number sense and identifying even and odd numbers while using a number line.
This past week our class celebrated our first bingo on our 100s chart for TEAMWORK! We were so excited to receive so many complements and work together as a team to reach this goal! Great job, First Grade! J
Later this week, I will be sending home our first Scholastic Book order form. You may order online using our class code: MJJ8J or you may send in your book order with a check (Scholastic INC.). All Scholastic Book orders will be due on Friday, September 28th.
As a class, we love to read and listen to stories! It is very important that kids hear fluent reading and apply comprehension strategies. One way we can practice these skills is by having guest readers come into our classroom! If any parent/ grandparent/ guardian would like to come into our classroom as a guest reader, please let me know by writing me a note, email or Class Dojo message!
