Weekly Newsletter for March 2-6,
2020
This week, we will begin our new
story, “Life in the Forest.” We will
learn about how plant and animal communities are important to each other. We will also revisit the skill of Authors
Purpose. Our high frequency words for “Life
in the Forest” will be: grow, food, around, find, water and under.
Our focus phonics skills for this
story are Long U and inflected ending –ed.
Our spelling words are huge, June, rule, tube, use, cube, cute, flute,
rude, and mule. Our challenge words are “water”
and “under.”
In Math, we will discuss how some
shapes can help create new shapes! We will also begin to dive into 3D
shapes! Listen for key vocabulary terms
such as: face, edge, and vertex.
March 2nd through March 6th
is Newspaper in Education Week! Read at
Home Challenge papers were sent home on Friday in your child’s Friday
Folder! If you are interested in
participating, please return the completed paper by Monday, March 9th! To go along with Newspaper in Education
week, I have submitted an “ad” to the Republican & Herald. This ad will be placed in the classified
section of the newspaper sometime this week! J
