Weekly Newsletter for February 24- 28, 2020

          Our Reading test on “The Big Circle” will be on Thursday, February 27^th.  Our high frequency words are: down, there, inside, together, and now. 

Our focus phonics skills for this story are the long O sound and contractions.  Our spelling words are home, hope, rose, woke, those, bone, hose, joke, rode and stone.  Our challenge words are: “there” and “together.”  The test on these words will be on Thursday, February 27^th. 

We will begin Unit 5 today in Math!  Throughout this unit, we will explore 2D and 3D shapes, learn shape vocabulary and begin fractions!

Our February Reading Logs will be collected on Friday, February 29^th!  A friendly reminder that our decodable books and highlighted stories make great stories to put on your child’s reading log!  These stories are practiced in class and also reinforce our phonics skills!  If your child reads the story 2 times, please place the title on the log! J
